​Mahbubnagar: Commemorating the 126th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, the officials of Andhra Bank main branch distributed fruits at the Red Cross society orphanage and later conducted an essay writing competition on Friday.

Hundreds of children from different schools across the district participated in the essay writing competition. While taking part in the programme C Dhanraj, Zonal Manager, Andhra Bank said India is a unique country of the world, where people of different religion, cast and creed live together which reflects the perfect unity in diversity.

“Dr B R Ambedkar had laid a strong foundation stone and brought up a silence socio economic revolution for the upliftment of the neglected and downtrodden. His contribution to the Indian constitution, his works to bring equality among male and female, fight to eradicate caste system, untouchability and to bring equality in the society have all bestowed in our constitution.

We should all strive to achieve those goals and walk in the path set by such a great leaders of the country,” Zonal Manager said.

N S N Reddy, Assistant General Manager, Chief Managers Samuel, D Manikyarao, A Parandhamulu and Prabhu, Immanual, SC/ST zonal secretary and other Andhra Bank staff also took part in the programme.
