Hyderabad: Telangana State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) on Friday held a special campaign for on-board merchants to accept digital payments. The campaign was the culmination of 100 days of Digi Dhan Melas.

Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, MLA Ch Ramachandra Reddy, Principal Finance Secretary K Rama Krishna Rao, Secretary (Finance) Sandeep Sultania, Hardayal Prasad, CGM, Mani Palvesan, CGM, SBI,.G T Venkateswara Rao Commissioner, MeeSeva and Giridhar Kinni, General Manager, SBI and SLBC Convener V Thyagarajan attended the event.

Representatives from all major banks and Merchants participated in the event. Rajender urged the Central government to take a decision on waiving the charges for digital transactions, so that more number of merchants can be brought on-boarded for digital payments.

Dattatreya said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had decided to reduce the cash transaction, so that malpractices can be curbed.
