Hyderabad: Can you believe ice cream being sold for Rs 5 lakh! Yes it is true. The ice cream manufactured by IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday as part of Shramdan programme of TRS was purchased by Malkajgiri MP Ch Malla Reddy for Rs 5 lakh.

The minister, according to party sources, earned Rs 7.3 lakh as Shramdan for one hour. This money would fund the TRS public meeting at Warangal on April 29 to mark the formation day of the party.

KTR visited an ice cream parlour near Suchitra in Kompally and prepared ice cream and fruit juice wearing a chef’s cap.

While one was purchased by Malla Reddy, the other one was purchased by Reddy’s follower Srinivas Reddy for Rs 1 lakh.

The minister then went to Qutubullapur and sold juice and ice cream. He later travelled to a under construction house and worked as an engineer.

The minister also interacted with the locals and urged them to make the public meeting a grand success. The TRS leaders who accompanied the minister included MP B Suman, Ch Malla Reddy, MLA G Vivekanand, MLC Shambhipur Raju, Mayor B Rammohan and others.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would work as ‘Gulabi coolie’ in Mahbubnagar district on April 19 to raise funds for TRS public meeting.

Speaking to media here on Friday, Palakurthy MLA E Dayakar Rao informed that the Chief Minister would first perform puja in Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple and would later review works pertaining to Mission Bhagiratha and SRSP in Raghapuram in Palakurthy. Later, he will participate in ‘Shramadanam’ programme in Torrur.
