Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in the districts of north Telangana on Monday, the Met department bulletin warned on Sunday. It said the day temperature was likely to be above normal by two to four degrees Celsius. They are likely to be above 42 degree Celsius at isolated places in north Telangana and above 40 degree Celsius at many places in the State on Monday, according to the bulletin.

The forecast said Saturday’s deep depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal moved further northeastwards to intensify into a cyclonic storm (Mumbai) on Sunday at 2.30 am IST and further moved north-eastwards and lay centered at 8.30 am over the east-central, about 420 km near north of Maya Bandar (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) and 280 km southwest of Sandoway (Myanmar).

The system is likely to move northeastwards and cross the Myanmar coast near Sandoway around midnight of Sunday. A trough from Telangana to east-central Arabian Sea across north interior Karnataka extends up to 0.9 km above the mean sea level. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the State from Monday to April 20. During the last 24 hours heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in the north Telangana districts.

The maximum temperature was above normal by two to four degree Celsius. They were above 42 degree Celsius at isolated places in the north Telangana region.On Sunday, the highest day temperature of 43 degree Celsius was recorded in Adilabad.
