Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ridiculed the statement given by I T Minister K T Rama Rao that his father K Chandrashekar Rao would remain the Chief Minister of Telangana for another 10 years.

BJP official spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said, “KTR’s cousin and Minister T Harish Rao a week earlier stated that the TRS will rule for 20 years. Looks like KTR has discounted 10 years already in a week’s time. It is the people who decide which party will win and lose at elections in a democracy.

These frivolous statements highlight the insecurity, doubt and lack of confidence of KCR’s family of the possibility of a reelection in Telangana State,” Krishna Saagar Rao said on Tuesday.

The BJP leader said despite being in power for three years, the Chief Minister had not even started on delivering the poll promises made in their pink book.

“With too much empty talk and nothing on the ground, the BJP feels that the TRS should be worried about winning half the seats they have won in the last election.

All the politicking through doling out caste and sub-caste freebies, passing an illegal and unconstitutional 12 percent Muslim Reservations Bill, large scale mobilisation of people for ‘no-purpose public meetings’ in the name of Janahitha Sabhas are all pointing at the TRS’ hurried run towards a pre-term elections as expected to save itself from possible wrath of people for their weakness, if they were to wait to complete a full term,” he said.

Rao said the BJP was ready whenever the elections were to occur in Telangana State to reach out to the voters and seek votes on the promise of good governance, nationalism and inclusive developmental agenda ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas’.
