Hyderabad: The Telangana government has advanced summer holidays to government and private schools from Wednesday in view of severe heat wave conditions in the state.
As temperatures at many places in the state had touched 40-44 degrees Celsius, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the school education department to declare holidays with immediate effect. As per the original schedule, the schools were to be closed from April 24 to June 11.
The Chief Minister felt that due to severe heat wave conditions the parents should also not send the children to the schools. He directed the school education department to take action against any school that violates the order.
