Hyderabad: Nair Service Society, Hyderabad, celebrated Vishu with éclat at Mahendra Reddy Gardens at Bowenpally.

The NSS organised the Vishu celebrations as a “Kutumaba Sagamam”(Family get-together). Senior journalist C G Chandra Mohan, who is also the president of the NSS inaugurated the Vishu celebrations by lighting the traditional lamp along with other office-bearers.

Chandra Mohan, in his presidential address, explained about the various activities of the Society and the future plans. He said the Vishu Sangamam is an opportunity for the children and other members of the Society to show their talents.

V Appukuttan Nair, General Secretary, welcomed. Cultural programmes included dances, Mohiniattam, cinematic dances, rendering of poems, skit, mimicry, etc. by the children and members of the NSS family.

Cultural programmes were followed by a sumptuous Vishu dinner hosted by the NSS prepared by its executive committee member K K Rajesh and team. Mementoes were given away to all the participants in the cultural programmes by the President and his team.

Joint Secretary K Soman Nair and Kumari Shilpa Unnikrishnan compered the programme assisted by Adviser Gopalakrishna Karanavar. Treasurer Unni Krishnan Nair proposed a vote of thanks.
