KCR leadership continuance puts an end to KTR as working president thinking

Hyderabad: Inequalities in TRS seems to have become a cause of concern for the pink party. Of late, there have been speculations that the TRS would be going in for early elections and hence the government was announcing community-based schemes.

Along with that, Minister for IT, Industries and MAUD K T Rama Rao has been in the lime light. He has been very active from GHMC elections to holding of Janahita meetings. In fact, the party leaders felt that he had overtaken Harish Rao who is considered to be a grassroots level leader and was also known as Man Friday of KCR till recently.

With the Chief Minister focusing on implementing the election promises, KTR has been going round various districts and holding public meetings and this had given speculation that he would be elevated to the post of working president and would be asked to take up the responsibility of making the party win next elections.

The party leaders were of the opinion that the Chief Minister would make the announcement at the plenary session. But no such announcement was made. Apparently the Chief Minister does not want to take up the risk of creating new problems in the party which could lead to dissensions.

During the past few days, there has been a talk in the political circles that Harish Rao was unhappy for being sidelined and that there were differences with KTR. Political observers say that this could have been one of the reasons for not making any such announcement.

The plenary has clearly indicated that the rank and file was in upbeat mood and perhaps KCR must have thought that he should not take any hasty decisions, say party leaders. Party sources feel that KCR would now wait till the next elections were over before making KTR as the working president.

Party MPs Vinod and K Keshav Rao said that at this point of time there was no need for having a working president. KCR was in pink of his health and was personally monitoring the implementation of all policies and programmes and he would be the star campaigner for the next elections as well.
