Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said the State government would strive to provide the best facilities to Haj pilgrims this year. Speaking to a gathering at the first Haj Orientation Training Camp held at the Hi-tech Garden Function Hall at Old Malakpet here on Sunday, Ali said he would try to see that free accommodation with free food be provided to around 1,000 pilgrims in Rubath in Makkah. He also said last year free accommodation and free food facilities were provided to some 600 Haj pilgrims.

He further said he would ensure accommodation to 1,284 pilgrims. Ali said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had instructed officials to provide all possible facilities to the Haj pilgrims. He requested the pilgrims to pray for the development of the country, the State and the community.MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala requested the pilgrims to pray for peace, progress and prosperity of the nation, the State and the people.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin also spoke. Prof S A Shukoor, Special officer, Telangana State Haj Committee, who presided over the meeting, said the pilgrims should exhibit patience and resilience during Haj. He said the Telangana State Haj Committee had made the best arrangements for the pilgrims in the country and this year also better arrangements would be made.Tayyaba Afandi, member of Haj Committee of India and Dr Juveria Fatima, Corporator, also attended the programme.
