Nalgonda: Mahatma Gandhi University is all set to conduct their first convocation on 5 May at the campus located in Annaperthi of Nalgonda mandal.Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy with efforts and help of his late political guru Rajasekhara Reddy’s influence realised the aspirations of the students in the district. The university started functioning in 2007 but did not conduct any convocation for the past ten years.

At present the university has as many as 12 departments including Math, Chemistry, English, Commerce, Economics, Bio technology, Social work, Geology, Engineering and Management Studies. Besides this, all PG and Degree colleges of Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri are affiliated to MGU.

As a part of the convocation ceremony, students registered for graduation courses through online will get certificates from university chancellor, Governor E S L Narasimhan. According to reliable sources, the son of Nalgonda Soil, JNU Delhi University VC Jagadish Kumar is invited as the Chief Guest.Authorities concerned are focused to make the first convocation ceremony of the university a memorable event.
