Cable bridge foundation across Durgam Cheruvu today
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao to lay foundation on Wednesday for the cable bridge across Durgam Cheruvu, which connects Jubilee Hills Road No 36 and Road No 45. The total cost of construction is estimated at Rs 184 crore on Wednesday.

In order to address the existing traffic problems and to cater to the future traffic needs in the Hi-tech City, the GHMC has taken up construction of an Extradosed Cable Stayed Bridge across Durgam Cheruvu Lake at Madhapur.
Apart from benefiting people travelling towards Madhapur from Jubilee Hills Road No 45, and surrounding areas, the bridge, is also expected to decongest Jubilee Hills Road No 36 that sees heavy traffic flow during peak hours.
The proposed alignment takes off from existing junction point near I labs (Inorbit mall end) and it deflects to left near parking area of TS Tourism Department and crosses over the Durgam Cheruvu lake and again it deflects to left near walking track of lake and passes along the boundary of hillock and finally deflects right and meets the Road no.45 before the Ambedkar University main entrance.
