Hyderabad: The much-awaited Mobile Veterinary Clinics under the public-private partnership (PPP) model may remain a non-starter with veterinary doctors are averse to taking up jobs on contract basis.

The doctors fear that the contract jobs, if they will take, will ruin their prospects of getting a government job. The doctors complain that the government without taking into consideration their views has unilaterally signed a pact with GVK-EMRI in March.

According to official sources, the doctors are not willing to take up the jobs under the GVK-EMRI partnership. The government has planned to launch the services in 100 constituencies. Much to the disappointment of the higher officials of Animal Husbandry, none of the Veterinary Doctors had not so far turned up to sign the bond.

“If this generation is not ready to accept the changing realities, then they would be losing opportunities on both sides,” lamented a higher official of Animal Husbandry. The services are planned to be launched in May.

Meanwhile, the Government Order issued on April 18 for filling of 101 vacancies of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons (Doctors) on contract basis has created a quite a stir amongst the job aspirants. As per the guidelines they would have a contract of 12 months and if need be it would be extended based on performance for another period of 12 months.

The aspirants have expressed concern that there would be no job guarantee and could be terminated within 30 days. Ever since the G O was issued, the veterinary doctors are up in arms. As a mark of protest Telangana Veterinary Students Association (TVSA) in PVNR Veterinary University held a rally on Tuesday.
