Telangana Assembly meets on Sunday to amend Land Act

The Telangana government has decided to convene a special one-day session of the Assembly on Sunday (April 30) to make amendments to the ‘Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Telangana Amendment) Act, 2016, derived from the Central Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to convene a special one-day session of the Assembly on Sunday (April 30) to make amendments to the ‘Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Telangana Amendment) Act, 2016, derived from the Central Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
According to official sources, the government in consultation with the law department has started work on incorporating the changes suggested by the Union government.
It may be mentioned here that the Union Law Ministry has suggested to the state government to ensure that the act adopted by the state was in conformation with the original act.
