  • TPCC President promises to waive farm loans up to `2 lakh and assures one lakh jobs every year for unemployed youth
  • Takes jibes at TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao

Speaking to the congregation of party workers at Reddipally village in Narsapur mandal, Uttam Kumar assured that the farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh would be waived-off if Congress comes to power in 2018/2019 general elections. He assured 1 lakh jobs every year and unemployment benefits of Rs 3000 per month to out of work youth. He also promised to clear the bills of Indiramma housing scheme to farmers which were avoided by the TRS government and also to construct another room for eligible beneficiaries of the scheme after coming to power.

Pointing out that Karnataka government was paying farmers bonus in addition to the Centre’s MSP for foodgrains, he demanded that the TRS government follow the example.“Total agricultural produce in Telangana in 2013-14 was 107 lakh tonnes. In 2014-15 it came down to 75 lakh tonnes and in 2015-16 it further deteriorated to 51 lakh tonnes. This means agricultural produce had been reduced to half of what it used to be after the formation of Telangana. This is the data submitted by TRS during budget sessions,” he said.

“According to the data revealed in the parliament, Telangana stands first in maximum number of farmers committing suicide and United Medak district ranks first in the State. Has our Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao ever cared to visit at least a single family affected by the suicide of a farmer in the past three years?” he asked.“We don’t know about Bangaru Telangana but one family has certainly become a Bangaru family,” he said.

He praised Sunitha Reddy for her sincerity, hard work and commitment and being a role model for the party’s State leadership. He asked the people of Narsapur constituency to ensure her victory in the next elections and assured a very important role for her if Congress comes to power in 2018/2019. After the public meeting, he along with other Congress leaders and cadre met District Collector Bharati Hollikeri about IKP's reluctance in procuring farmers' paddy in Narsapur mandal.
