May Day celebrated

Vikarabad: May Day was celebrated on a grand scale under the aegis of the CITU in Tandur, Bhasheerabad, Peddemul and Yalal on Monday.

CITU division convener Soma Sekhar said the State government paid no attention to the labour welfare and pointed out that there was no ESI hospital in the area even though there are many cement factories in the region.

In spite of prohibition on child labour, children were employed at many factories and the labour department is being ignorant and not taking disciplinary action, he alleged.
