Red, blue beacons only for emergency vehicles

Hyderabad: The city traffic police on Tuesday said action would be initiated if red or blue light on motor vehicles was used in violation of the Union government’s orders prohibiting use of the same. Red or blue light can be used only for the vehicles attending the duties related to control of fire, the police, Defense or paramilitary forces for maintenance of law and order and vehicles attending the duties related to management of natural disasters, according to a release issued by the traffic police. Multi-colour light should not be used when the vehicle was not on the designated duty, the release said adding that action would be taken against the violators as per motor vehicle rules.
