Hyderabad: State Labour Department on Monday awarded best management award to Singareni Collieries and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation on the occasion of International Labour Day celebrations.Labour Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy gave away the awards to Singareni Collieries and TSRTC at a function held at Ravindra Bharati. Special Officer to Singareni Collieries Special Officer J Nagaiah received the award from Narasimha Reddy on behalf of CMD N Sridhar.
The Minister appreciated the functioning of the Singareni Collieries in terms of production, implementation of welfare programmes, pro-worker measures taken by company. The company is first in terms of providing employment and soon a decision would be taken on the dependent employment scheme, said the Minister. This is the second consecutive year that the Singareni Collieries got the award.
According to the Singareni Collieries officials, during 2015-16 and 2016-17, the company had achieved 15 per cent growth in production and had taken up many welfare activities. The TSRTC MD Ramana Rao received the best management award from the Labour Minister. The award was given to RTC, which has achieved a special place as public transporter. Ramana Rao said he would strive to work to fulfil the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to take the TSRTC to the top. He said the award was the result of the dedicated work and support of all the staff of TSRTC.
