The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is all set to complete the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project work by August 2017.

​Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is all set to complete the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project work by August 2017.

The total length of ORR is estimated at 158 km, with eight lanes for the main carriage way (four on each side) and two lanes for the service roads. The ORR has 19 interchange roads at Kokapet, Edulangulapally, Patancheru, Sultanpur, Dundigal, Medchal, Shamirpet, Keesara, Ghatkesar, Taramatipet, Pedda Amberpet, Bongulur, Ravirayal, Tukkuguda, Pedda Golkonda, Shamshabad, Rajendra Nagar, Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA), Nanakramguda and Gachibowli.

The Outer Ring Road was divided into three phases, of which Phase I was started in the year 2007, phase II in 2008 and phase III which started in 2009 is expected to be completed by August 2017.

According to a senior HMDA official, HMDA at present was getting a revenue of around 200 crore per annum but once the ORR works are completed then HMDA can expect a revenue of nearly 230 crore per annum.
