​Hyderabad: Setting a new benchmark the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) recorded an increase of 16 per cent in the shipping of coal during the month of April.

According to SCCL officials, the company was able to transport 53.7 lakh tonne coal in the month of April, an increase of 15.77 per cent when compared to previous year, which was 46.4 lakh tonnes.

Meanwhile, the SCCL also removed 348 lakh cubic metres of Over Burden, when compared to 276 lakh cubic metres, during the same month, the previous year.

It recorded an increase of 26.24 per cent in removing OB. It also crossed the target of 304 lakh cubic metres. The SCCL also increased its production when compared to April of previous year.

It had achieved 44.9 lakh tonnes of production, when compared to 44.5 lakh tonnes of production, the previous year.
