​Hyderabad: The state government has issued guidelines for the new social security scheme for single women. The scheme -- Financial Assistance to Singe Women -- would dole out Rs 1,000 a month to each beneficiary. The scheme would be implemented by SERP (Society For Elimination of Poverty).

According to the guidelines mentioned in the GO, married women above 18 years who have been deserted by husbands and unmarried women above 30 years in rural areas and 35 years in urban areas are eligible to avail the benefit.

In case, the beneficiary remarries or gets permanent employment or economic stability after the sanction of the financial assistance, the benefit would be discontinued after ascertaining the status.

Women who cross 65 years will not be eligible for the pension and their names would be removed from the scheme. They would instead be included in the old-age pension-- Aasara scheme.

To avail the scheme, the beneficiary annual income should not be more than Rs 1.50 lakh in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh in urban areas. The beneficiaries would be identified by conducting gram sabhas in villages and ward sabhas in urban areas.

The GO further said that it would be mandatory that every beneficiary possess the Aadhar card. Under biometric authentication payment mode, the Department of Posts (DoP) would issue savings account pass book and disburse the amount through “Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS)”.

Under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), banks would issue saving account pass book and the amount will be directly credited to the beneficiary account through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) platform.

The District Collectors have been authorised to allot one livelihood support scheme to these women. It may include providing land under Land Purchase Scheme (LPS) or Milch Cattle or Sheep Units using bank linkages or self employment units by providing skill training.
