KCR assures Transco contract staff on service regularisation
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Thursday, assured the employees of Telangana Transmission Corporation that the government would regularise the services of 24,000 contract and outsourcing employees at the earliest.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Thursday, assured the employees of Telangana Transmission Corporation that the government would regularise the services of 24,000 contract and outsourcing employees at the earliest.
Addressing the employees of Transco at Pragathi Bhavan, who called on him to thank him for the decision to appoint 13,500 employees, the Chief Minister said once the process of new appointments and regularisation is completed, the TS Transco would become the biggest power utility in the country with 75,000 employees.
He said with the efforts of the employees. “Telangana has come out of power crisis. ” Because of the hard work of the TS Transco employees, the state is in comfortable position. Though the government makes policies to ensure better power supply it is the line men and other employees who would ensure that the policies are implemented in letter and spirit, he said.
“Success in power supply has been achieved as the engineers and employees have worked hard. Now the state is able to provide power supply 24 hours to all the sectors, except to the agriculture sector,” he said.
The Transco has agreed to his request to provide power round the clock to the agriculture sector and a decision in this regard would come out in two days.
All that the employees want is filling up of posts which were vacant from 2012. It would be difficult for them to work without manpower. If the government permits to fill 13,500 vacancies, 10,000 existing employees would get promotions. This has prompted the government to give permission to take up recruitment for 13,500 posts.
The Chief Minister said that he was against contract labour system as it would deprive them of the benefits which the regular employees get. The system of equal wage to equal work and responsibility should be implemented.
Generation capacity of TS Genco has been raised to 6,500 MW from 4,500 MW after the formation of State. About 4,200 MW would be added to this. If the Solar power is added, the installed power generation capacity of the state would be 27,000 to 28,000 MW. From June 2018, the lift irrigation projects would be provided with 10,000 MW of power.
The irrigation department has to be ready to ensure supply of power to the LI schemes and it would meet the power expenses of LI schemes.
