​Hyderabad: BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had neglected interests of chilli farmers.

Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy said the farmers had faced problem for transporting their chilli produce as the ruling party had engaged tractors for transporting people for its public meeting in Warangal.

The violence that had erupted in Khammam Market Yard showed how pathetic condition the farmers are in. But, the ruling party was trying to mislead people by throwing the blame on the Opposition parties for the violence that erupted in the Market Yard.

Kisahan Reddy said the Centre had announced Rs 5,000 a quintal as minimum support price for chilli and it should be turn for the State government to announce bonus on the produce to bail out farmers out of distress.

The BJP leader, after visiting Khammam Market Yard, met the farmers, who were remanded in judicial custody in the district jail.
