Addressing the TSRTC employees and senior officials during the launch of the 21 seater ‘Vajra’ Bus Services on Hyderabad-Nizamabad and Hyderabad-Warangal routes here at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister said, “If there is any inefficiency among the workers, I would blame the Transport Minister, Mahender Reddy, RTC Chairman S Satyanarayana and MD G V Ramana Rao.”

The Chief Minister said, when he was the Transport Minister, the corporation was in profits of Rs 14 crore. He said every one of them should strive to bring the organisation into profits. The Chief Minister also said that the government is thinking what should be done with the loans of the corporation.

Government had recently absorbed the Rs 12,000 crore loans of the power utilities in the State. In the same way, the government is examining various options available to help the TSRTC. Already Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated in the budget, which will be released promptly.

KCR said that in a democratic set up, public transport is a social responsibility of the government. The urban transportation has always been in losses, the city has over 3,000 buses more than what some small states have, he said.

The CM wanted good relations between the workers and officials. “There should be good IR (industrial relations). There should be no harassment. It is very big responsibility of the staff as one-third of Telangana will be on wheels of RTC daily. Every one of you should be KCR and make TSRTC the best in the world.’’

“Delegations from different states are coming to Telangana to know about Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha and Loan waiver scheme. In the same way they should come to know the functioning of the Telangana RTC,” he said.

The CM wanted Vajra Bus Services to be extended to Karimnagar, Mancherial and Ramagundam as there are industrial parks in these areas. He said that this new service would be a hit
