Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday launched a blitzkrieg against All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh for his allegations against the State police and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat here, Srinivas Yadav said the AICC leader would not be allowed to step into Hyderabad unless he withdrew the unfounded remarks he made and tender an unconditional apology.

The Minister’s comments came at a time when Singh was still firm and stood by his comments against the police and was ready to attend the court if necessary.

The Minister said, “We will not allow the senior Congress leader to step into Hyderabad as he belittled the State police of running a fake website to lure gullible Muslim youth to become terrorists through ISIS network,” he said.

He also took serious exception to Digvijay Singh for stating that Chandrashekar Rao was behind it and should resign from the post.

“It is unbecoming for a leader, who held Chief Minister’s and Union Minister’s posts earlier,” he objected. The Minister also expressed his dismay and displeasure over the silence of the Congress national leadership for provocative statements by its leaders.

He sought to know why either the AICC or the Telangana Congress leadership were not reacting on the issue. It may be mentioned here that Singh’s remarks snowballed into a major controversy in the State.
