The SI, identified as Krishnaiah, was run over by a speeding car on Tippukhanpul bridge, near Langarhouz in Hyderabad. The incident occured in the wee hours of Monday when the victim was on a morning walk.
While the car driver is absoconding, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
Krishnaiah, aged 56 was all set to retire next year.
