Drunken drivers sent to prison
As many as 56 drunken drivers were awarded with prison term ranging between one to seven days while 46 drunken drivers were ordered to do social service for one day besides paying fine and 64 drunken drivers were imposed with a fine of Rs 2,100 each.

Hyderabad traffic police filed 162 charge sheets against the inebriated drivers caught between May 1 and 7. Based on the charges, the designated courts awarded the punishment, according to a release.Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, A Ravinder said those who are caught and convicted for drunken driving will face difficulties in getting government jobs, passport and visa clearance.
The special drive against drunken driving will be conducted during day time also to ensure road safety, he said and appealed to the commuters to avoid driving when drunk.
