The Tourism Department would take up 2,561st Buddha Jayanthi Celebrations on Buddha Purnima at various places in the city on Wednesday. According to a press release issued here by the Telangana Tourism Department, the State has been having rich Buddhist heritage in the entire country.
Hyderabad: The Tourism Department would take up 2,561st Buddha Jayanthi Celebrations on Buddha Purnima at various places in the city on Wednesday. According to a press release issued here by the Telangana Tourism Department, the State has been having rich Buddhist heritage in the entire country.
Telangana Tourism has identified Buddhist Tourism as an important segment because of its tremendous appeal to both domestic and foreign tourists from East and South East Asia, particularly Japan, China, Thailand, Srilanka and Singapore.
There would be display of holy relics of Lord Buddha at State Museum, Nampally, Hyderabad from 3.00 pm onwards, Buddhavandana at Buddha statue, Lumbini Park at 5.00 pm, offering prayers by Buddhist monks at Buddha statue in the evening from 5.10 pm to 6.30 pm on Hussainsagar lake followed by discourses by Buddhist monks, chanting and leaving of lamps.
