Medak: District Collector Bharati Hollikeri made a surprise visit to an IKP paddy procurement centre at Rajpally in Medak mandal and expressed her anger against IKP officials for the delay in weighing paddy from farmers.
She asked them to complete procuring the remaining paddy left at the procurement center within two days. She has directed the officials to weigh paddy even during nights and to ensure procured paddy is taken to rice mills immediately.
The collector said that Rs 11 crore has already been deposited into the accounts of 6500 farmers in the district. She said that amount would be deposited in farmers’ accounts for selling their produce within 48 hours after the weighed paddy is taken to mills.
