Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education Kadiyam Srihari, on Tuesday, told the District Educational Officers (DEOs) to complete the works relating to basic amenities in the schools before the beginning of the next academic year. In addition, they have to review the results of SSC before the commencement of the new academic year. 

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education Kadiyam Srihari, on Tuesday, told the District Educational Officers (DEOs) to complete the works relating to basic amenities in the schools before the beginning of the next academic year. In addition, they have to review the results of SSC before the commencement of the new academic year.

Discussing the plan for the department with the DEOs, he said availability of books and uniforms should be examined. Establishment of digital class rooms and biometric attendance equipment in 6,000 schools has to be completed at the earliest.

The minister said that from separate grants would be given to furniture and maintenance. The funds would be released by June. Vidya Volunteers should be appointed in the schools till the completion of recruitment of new teachers which may take six months.

In order to see that teaching is not affected when teachers go on leave, 20 teachers would be kept in the control of each District Collector. Services of these teachers would be utilised at the schools when teachers go on leave.

Training for two days would be given to the District Educational Officers and to the deputy DEOs who have been appointed on promotion at Academic Staff College soon. They have to take steps for effective implementation of government schemes.

Special Chief Secretary of Education department Ranjeev Acharya has been directed to make arrangements for the training programme.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that a review meeting would be held by the beginning of next academic year and the DEOs should have all the information with them by that time.
