New Delhi: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the Telangana Bhavan officials to properly map the State’s share of property in the erstwhile AP Bhavan located here to prevent any illegal occupation by the Andhra Pradesh authorities.

The Chief Minister scrutinised the records, in the past two days, in two different meetings after a spat between the Telangana and AP officials over RC Bungalow. He directed the officials here to survey the land of erstwhile United AP located in two bits.

As the discussions, regarding sharing of the New Delhi property has not begun, despite the Centre's directive, it is not clear who should claim what and who should retain the rest.

Chief Minister is said to have not made up his mind regarding whether to go for a new complex with typical Telangana architecture style (Kakatiya style) or insist on AP vacating the joint Bhavan and construct its own.

If the officials sort out the issue and Chief Minister were to opt for a new building then Telangana would get the possession of part of Nursing Hostel, that is adjacent to the Telangana Bhavan and Pataudi House, which is adjacent to the Bahai House located opposite to the present Bhavan
premises.

This project if conceived would come up in about 10 acres of land, one for the Administrative block and official guest house with canteen and the other (Nursing Hostel) could become the housing complex for the employees.

However, this is a time consuming project and moreover, Capital rules restrict high rises in the area, which means any new building coming up at Pataudi House would not exceed G plus Two (ground plus two). This could mean a lot of space-constraint for any State opting for the same.

Alternately, the Centre could allot land for a State elsewhere as it has done in case of all other States. It all depends on the bargaining capacity of the State under consideration. Whether the Chief Minister would prefer this option is not known yet.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is said to have advised restraint on part of the officials as unnecessary irritants would only queer the pitch further.

It is learnt that the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh also pulled up the AP Bhavan officials for their over enthusiasm in breaking the locks put on the RC Bungalow the other day.

Earlier during the day, TRS MPs A P Jitender Reddy and B Vinod Kumar, met the Defence Minister Arun Jaitley to plead the consideration of allocating the Parade Grounds located at Secunderabad for the new Secretariat complex as requested by the State government.

Later, Vinod Kumar told media that the Chief Minister sought to construct a new Bhavan in New Delhi at the earliest.
