Says Chief Minister can’t keep a tab on how criminals are being taken to courts
Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav mocked the Congress leaders for making a mountain out of a mole hill on the issue of handcuffing the arrested chilli farmers while being taken to the district court in Khammam.Speaking at the second annual conference of the Telangana Union of Working Journalists on Saturday, Srinivas Yadav, while showering accolades on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for taking up numerous developmental and welfare schemes, especially for the farming community in Telangana State, ridiculed criticism of the Opposition parties, particularly the Congress leaders, with regard to the handcuffing of chilli farmers.
“How can the Chief Minister be blamed if the accused farmers were handcuffed and taken to the court by the police?” he asked and said Chandrashekar Rao cannot keep a tab on how the criminals are being taken to the court.Srinivas Yadav further pointed out that it was during the present TRS regime under the stewardship of Chandrashekar Rao that the farmers were getting benefited unlike in the past. But the Congress leaders were crying foul for no reason or rhyme on trivial issues, he observed and felt that such dubious actions of the Opposition should be exposed by journalists.
Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy asserted that the police personnel responsible for handcuffing the chilli farmers were being dealt with as per the law. Never in the past farmers were given so many incentives and financial support, he said. But still the Opposition parties were trying to pick loopholes in everything the TRS government was doing for the benefit of the farmers, he observed.
