Hyderabad: The Praga Tools Employees Cooperative Housing Society has accused the Petbasheerabad Assistant Commissioner of Police, Alwal Police Circle Inspector and Sub Inspector of colluding with the accused in land grabbing.

The case relates to 3.20 out of 22 acres, worth Rs 220 crore, which belongs to the society and was allegedly grabbed by goons.

Praga Tools Employees’ Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd claimed to have purchased 22 acres land at Hasmathpet village under Balanagar mandal in Medchal district. Society’s former president Late Balaraju had reportedly given 4 acres out of the 22 acres of land to a politician to build 10 flats in Manasarovar Heights Phase-I.

In fact, an inquiry by the district administration had led arrest of society’s former president on a charge of mismanagement of Rs 24 crore and alienated 17 acres of land, according to the present office-bearers of the society. Now what all remains with the society is 3.2 acres.

This land too is under illegal occupation of a trust, it is alleged. A report lodged by the Praga Tools Employees’ Co-Operative Housing Society showed that despite an injunction order issued by XV Additional Judge, Miyapur court in favour of the Society, the police issued trespass notice against the society members when they attempted to stage peaceful protest at the disputed land by pitching tents.

The society members said their efforts to bring the matter to the notice of higher-up proved futile. The members are now threatening to go on an indefinite fast unless justice is done to them.
