One killed, four hurt as SUV goes berserk
In a bizarre incident, a Scorpio Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) ran amuck at Madhapur in the city on Saturday killing one person and causing injuries to four others.
Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, a Scorpio Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) ran amuck at Madhapur in the city on Saturday killing one person and causing injuries to four others.
According to the police, the SUV was coming from Jubilee Hills at a high speed and the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into two motor bikes and two cars at Kakatiya Hills in the area before coming to a halt.
According to the police, the Scorpio was being driven by one Basant, who is said to be working as Assistant Manager in Krishnapatnam port. The area witnessed ghastly scenes soon after the accident.
The bikes were badly damaged and wheels had come out, the cars also suffered severe damage. The police suspect that the black Scorpio was being driven at a high speed of about 100 kms.
Soon after the accident, people who rushed to the spot caught hold of the driver and beat him up. The police who rushed to the spot arrested him and registered a case of rash and negligent driving. The accident led to traffic jam in the area for nearly an hour.
