The participants of 53rd batch of Vaktha felt that the two-days training programme jointly organised by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on Saturday and Sunday, has transformed self-conscious persons into orators who can pull crowds.The public speaking training programme, which was attended by people from all age groups, displayed a marked change in them.

Hyderabad: The participants of 53rd batch of Vaktha felt that the two-days training programme jointly organised by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on Saturday and Sunday, has transformed self-conscious persons into orators who can pull crowds.The public speaking training programme, which was attended by people from all age groups, displayed a marked change in them.

Some of them, whose hands and legs used to shake while holding a mike, expressed new levels of confidence after attending the programme. Most of them said they felt transformed after attending the classes and are ready to undertake the role of leaders, who can bring about change in the society. The Director (Training), Kapil Group and the lead faculty of the programme D Bal Reddy explained all the important tips and techniques related to public speaking.

While providing insights into the ‘dos and don’ts’ of public speaking, he also explained the participants that it is important for people to practise to become good public speakers. The participants, who tried to speak like trained orators, explained that they could clearly recognise their deficiencies and would now work on improving the same in the coming days. During sessions, Bal Reddy also emphasised upon the need for the upcoming leaders to remain relaxed while holding the mike and to remain focused on the subject.

Avoiding distraction of all kinds on the stage is the key for public speaking. S Anand Parjanya, faculty on body language, trained the participants on maintaining their posture while delivering a speech and communicating at a public place. He explained as to how the orator, should communicate the subject with the coordinating actions of hands. K Srikanth, another faculty, explained important techniques of voice modulation since a good speaker maintains a high tone while delivering the speech.

He made students practise some of the important tips and showed how voice culture and modulation can make a person an effective public speaker. While providing their feedback, S Venkata Ramana Chowdary from Anantapur said that he had found a marked change in him after attending the two-day training classes.

He explained that at the end of the programme, he felt very confident that he can speak in front of a huge audience without a stutter. K Ramnaik from Mahbubnagar described the programme as a beginning of transformation from being a person with inhibitions to avid public speaker. P Thirupathi from Jagtial regretted the delay in attending the training sessions. He vowed to continue to practise tips provided during the 2-day training.
