Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has decided to intensify field level checks and focus on reducing signals, loco diesel and mechanical failures.

In a review meeting held on Monday with all the principal Heads of Departments, SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav instructed six Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) to conduct checks in a more robust manner.

He asked all the officials to take corrective measures immediately to bring down the failures to minimal. He stated that all measures should be taken to ensure punctuality in train movements for the entire zone.

The General Manager suggested all the DRMs to take pre-monsoon precautions well in advance to monitor the track and signals to ensure safety. Further he instructed the officials to ensure proper water supply in trains in the summer season.

He also advised to give priority in finalising the works related to Pay and Use toilets at stations. While reviewing the passenger earnings, the General Manager stressed on the need to intensify ticket checking during summer season. He also directed the officials to proceed with a proper action plan for increasing the freight loading in the zone.
