​Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday said the government is trying to bring back the migrating farmers by making agriculture a profitable profession.

The Minister on Tuesday inaugurated the shoot of a short film ‘Raite Raju’ directed by A Sridhar at Prof Jayashankar Agriculture University. Actor Suman would be essaying the main role in the film which will be used to educate farmers on the various government schemes.

He said the government was striving, under the leadership Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, to prove that farmer is the real king.

He said the film would be shown in villages as ‘video on wheels’. The farmers would be educated about conserving rain water, farm mechanisation, soil tests, crop insurance etc. Water Bodies Development Corporation Chairman V Prakash Rao, Vice Chancellor of University V Praveen Rao, Horticulture University registrar Ravinder Reddy, short film music and video director Shashi Preetam and others were also present.
