​Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in Telangana Assembly K Jana Reddy on Wednesday condemned the attack by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) workers on Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkatreddy during the inauguration of Orange Market Yard in Nalgonda on Tuesday. He also condemned Komatireddy's arrest by the police.

Speaking to media persons here, Jana Reddy alleged that the TRS workers pelted stones on Komatireddy's convoy which resulted in many Congress leaders and workers including Komatireddy suffering injuries.

He said several Congress workers were also injured in the lathicharge by the police. He demanded that the State government withdraw all the cases registered against the Congress workers and provide better treatment to the injured persons.

Jana Reddy announced that he would soon visit Nalgonda to discuss and finalise the future strategy. He said the Telangana Congress Legislature Party would meet on Thursday to discuss latest political situation in the State.

According to sources, the CLP meeting will be held on Thursday at 5 pm in Assembly's Committee Hall. Several issues including shifting of Dharna Chowk, attack on Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkatreddy, problems of chilli farmers and visit of BJP national president Amit Shah are likely to be discussed during the meeting.

Meanwhile, speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said the attack on Komatireddy had exposed the ‘goondaism’ of TRS government.
