Mahbubnagar: With almost 1,400 double bed room houses are going to be completed soon, the district administration is taking steps to handover the houses to the beneficiaries in the next two months.

Minister for Housing Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy and local MLA Srinivas Goud inspected the construction works of double bed rooms houses at Divitipally and Christanpally in Mahbubnagar district on Friday

While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Dr Laxma Reddy has said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken up the mammoth task of construction of more than 2 lakh houses in the State.

As part of this, the Government has acquired land for 1 lakh houses in the first phase and completed the tender process for 80,000 houses; agreements have already been made for 40,000 houses and 20,000 houses are under various stages of construction.

At present, construction works on 1400 double bed room houses are at final stages in the district. Among them, more than 1000 houses are constructed at Divitipally on an area of 60 acres, while 310 houses are constructed at Christianpally in the district. Construction would be completed in next two months and they would be handed over to beneficiaries, the minister said.

Later during a review meeting at the Collectorate, the Minister along with MLA Srinivas goud, MP Jitender Reddy and Collectors of 4 districts of erstwhile Mahabubnagar, discussed on the status of double bed room houses in other parts of the district and constituencies.

As the Chief Minister has already announced construction of 1000 houses in each constituency, the minister has directed the Collectors to speed up the land acquisition and start the construction works as early as possible.
