Hyderabad: Boys performed well in engineering stream by achieving 74.75% pass percentage and 86.49% in agriculture, pharma and allied groups of Eamcet-2017.

According to the results of Eamcet-2017, which were released on Monday, 98,596 students out of 1.31 lakh appeared for engineering entrance test have qualified and 63,570 out of 73,496 appeared for agriculture, pharmacy and allied streams have qualified.

The results were released by Telangana State Higher Education Council chairman T Papi Reddy and vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University A Venugopala Reddy.

A total of 2.2 lakh candidates had registered for TS EAMCET-2017 examination and out of them 1.41 registered for engineering stream and 79,033 for agriculture, pharmacy and allied group stream.

As many as 27 regional centres were identified and the examination was conducted on May 12. The total number of test centres in various regions were 400, out of them 246 were identified for engineering and 154 for agriculture, pharmacy and allied group stream.

The percentage of attendance is 93.46 per cent for engineering and 92.99 for agriculture, pharmacy and allied subjects. Nearly 280 observers and 47 special observers along with police and revenue officials with flying squads were appointed for the smooth conduct of examination and to prevent any malpractices.

The ranks are assigned in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75 per cent weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25 per cent weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry of the qualifying examination.

Thanking the officials who have cooperated for the smooth conduct of the examinations, TSCHE chairman T Papi Reddy said that rank cards could be obtained from May 25 and the admission process would begin in June second week.

In the engineering stream G Jayanth Harsha secured the top rank with 156 marks, K Ram Prasad got second rank with 156 marks, A Sai Bharadwaj secured third rank with 155 marks, D Sailendra got fourth rank with 155 marks and V Mohan Abhyas secured fifth rank with 155 marks.
