Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao, who is on a US tour, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and the Opposition Congress of making a hue and cry against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for mileage.
Addressing a meeting of TRS party leaders and activists at Santa Clara, the Minister slammed BJP national president Amit Shah for his jibe that the Centre gave Rs 1 lakh crore to Telangana and the government failed to spend them.

Rama Rao informed the gathering that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre had failed to take a call on High Court bifurcation despite repeated appeals.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and I made frequent appeals in this regard and no positive response came from the Centre on the division of High Court,” he bemoaned. The Minister also slammed the BJP State leaders for daydreaming to come to power in Telangana in 2019 which, he said, was impossible as they had no leadership and public support in the State.

“The BJP State leadership has no guts to find fault with Chandrashekar Rao, who has been implementing schemes for the welfare of Hindus, Muslims and others in the State. The BJP leaders cannot make anti-Hindu or anti-Muslim comments against Chandrashekar Rao for implementing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak programmes (not in Manifesto) giving monetary help for marriages.

Besides, Chandrashekar Rao also has taken up development of Yadadri temple, Rajarajeswara Temple at Vemulawada and many others across the State through huge funds besides giving money for Muslim minorities for welfare and development, mosques, Wakf lands and minority residential schools,” he said.

As there was no other issue, the BJP leaders were crying foul against the government, he said. Rama Rao said that the TRS government was implementing various schemes for the welfare of farmers, poor, SC, ST, Minorities and other deprived classes. The schemes of Telangana were ideal at national level and many other States in the country were coming forward to replicate them, he said. The KCR kits comprising 13 items would be given free to women on delivery and Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000 at government hospitals, Rama Rao added.
