Hyena succumbs to sunstroke in Nehru Zoological Park

Falling victim to the unbearable heat in Telangana, a hyena has succumbed to a sunstroke at the Nehru Zoological Park on Friday. While the doctors suspect the untimely death to be due to heart failure, the exact reason is yet to be known.

The doctors at the Zoo have sent the samples to the lab are waiting for the reports. A veterinary assistant director at the zoo, Abdul Hakim insisted that animals such as monkeys, birds, white tiger are the ones usually affect due to the heat and hyenas are capable to withstand the heat.

He however, added that the zoo authorities have installed coolers and sprinklers in most enclosures.
