Hyderabad: A day after declaring the survey results on the performance of his party legislators at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (TRSLP) meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has now entrusted MLAs the responsibility of successful implementation of the developmental programmes taken up in their respective Assembly constituencies.

At a specially convened meeting with selected MLAs in the Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday, the Chief Minister asked the leaders to take initiatives in examining the works going on in the construction of canals, repairs and the works under Mission Bhagiratha. He asked them to monitor the progress of works from time to time.

Whenever there was a problem and delay in the execution of works, the legislators should intervene and see that the issues were resolved so that the works were completed as per schedule, he said.

He explained to the MLAs about the ongoing irrigation project works including Kaleswaram barrage, construction of canals, Devadula and SRSP project works. He also asked them to bring to his notice if any delay in the execution of the works was taking place.

Chandrashekar Rao suggested the legislators to keep track of the progress of works under Mission Bhagiratha in their respective constituencies and to find out how far the works on intake wells, pump houses, sub stations and pipeline had been executed and alert the concerned authorities if the works were not progressing as per schedule.

The Chief Minister emphasised that every village should get drinking water by the year end. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, Legislative Council Vice Chairman N Vidyasagar, Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman Vemula Prashant Reddy and others were present.
