Animal Husbandry Minister flays protests by veterinary students and doctors
Hyderabad: Minister for Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday said the government is going to fill adequate number of trained veterinary doctors and others staff to successfully implement the government schemes such as sheep rearing, fishing, dairy development and others.
Highlights:
- Launches mobile vet van at the Secretariat
- Notification to be issued on June 2 for appointment of 541 veterinary staff
The Minister flayed the qualified veterinary doctors for staging protests at the behest of some political parties which have no other work than to provoke them. Stating that there was need for more qualified veterinary doctors in the State, the Minister appealed to the students not to resort to agitation at the instigation of unemployed political leaders of the Opposition parties --- Congress, BJP and TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram.
Talking to mediapersons after launching the Mobile Veterinary Van at the Secretariat, the Minister said they have purchased 100 mobile vans to be pressed into service in Assembly segments. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has asked the officials concerned to fill all the vacancies in their respective departments.
As of now, the State was having 3.5 lakh employees and additional one lakh to be appointed in various departments through Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Animal Husbandry department will be issuing a notification on June 2 for appointing 541 qualified veterinary staff, including doctors and others posts of Class IV employees in addition to already appointed 162 veterinary doctors.
He also said apart from this, the State government proposed to start Mobile Veterinary services for cattle at the doorsteps of farmers. Each such van will consist of a veterinary doctor, assistant veterinary doctor, helper and driver, he said, adding that 100 vans have been purchased, which will come into operation from the middle of June and already one has arrived to which he has inaugurated on Saturday.
For this also additional staff is needed. He opined that the students are unnecessarily resorting to protests and agitations on the instigation of few unemployed political leaders and spoiling their career.
Srinivas Yadav said that very soon, he will call the meeting of the parents for counseling them. He said that the State is short of veterinary doctors and all those qualified will be appointed in the department. In addition to this, the government is considering to avail the service of retired persons, he added.
