Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao goes all guns blazing against Opposition
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday rebutted the criticism that the poll survey which showed that the TRS would win by handsome majority was bogus. Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday rebutted the criticism that the poll survey which showed that the TRS would win by handsome majority was bogus. - Challenges Congress MLAs to resign and face fresh polls if they have courage
Addressing party workers at Telangana Bhavan on the occasion marking the TDP leader Ramesh Rathod and Congress leader P Ravinder Rao joining the TRS, KCR said the Opposition parties were unable to digest the reality. “Bandaru Dattatraya of BJP said our survey is bogus but at the same time they claimed that they will also get a survey conducted,
stating that Modi government’s popularity has gone up from 39 per cent to 46 per cent. If our survey is bogus then their survey should also be bogus. “The survey is not bogus but it is their minds which are bogus,” said KCR.
Reiterating that BJP would not win even one of the five Assembly seats it held, he said if the BJP was really so popular, he wondered why it had failed to win even a single seat in the last GHMC elections. “As per my survey, TRS was slated to get 80 seats, but KTR and others, who campaigned in the run up to the GHMC elections,
were confident of securing 100 seats, and finally we got 99 seats in GHMC. These results are going to repeat in the Statewide elections. In one of the elections in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK had won all the seats, except that of Karunanidhi of DMK. Who knows similar results can be repeated here,” said KCR.
The TRS chief challenged the Congress MLAs to resign and prove their mettle. “If you have confidence and any masculinity left in you, then resign… let us face elections. We have resigned many times…we are fed up with this. I resigned five to six times right from Deputy Speaker to Union Minister’s post. You resign and face election,” said KCR. He said the Congress party had been causing hindrance to implementing government schemes. They had gone to court four times in 15 days to stop Kaleshwaram project, he said.
KCR said only one issue would be enough to prove why farmers would vote TRS. The farmers were granted loan waiver, guaranteed quality power and now financial assistance of Rs 8,000 for two crops was being implemented to enable farmers to buy fertiliser and pesticide. He wondered whether the Congress had ever tried to implement such schemes during it rule.
Attacking the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, KCR said there was no place for cheats like N Chandrababu Naidu in Telangana State. He said Naidu should first apologise to the farmers in Andhra Pradesh and DWACRA women for failing to implement the loan waiver scheme.
The Chief Minister said Ramesh Rathod would be given some important position commensurate with his stature. He also asked Rathod not to create confusion in Khanapur Assembly constituency. He said Ravinder Rao did not get due recognition in Congress.
