Visakhapatnam: Firebrand Telugu Desam leader Revanth Reddy set the Mananadu venue on fire with his fierce attack on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and his kin, on the closing day of the three-day Mahanadu, here on Monday.

Around 5,000 party workers, who came all the way from various parts of Telangana and local fans, gave a rousing welcome and drowned in Revanth’s speech with thunderous applause that even surprised the party president Chandrababu Naidu and other senior ministers.

A chorus of slogans echoed the vast Andhra University Engineering College grounds the moment he was called to address the meeting. In fact the party workers have been waiting to hear him since the inaugural session. During the last three days there was an uproar from the audience whenever his name was
referred.

An overwhelmed Revanth, who was also called as Telangana Bahubali by the party workers, blazed his guns at the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao calling him the enemy of the Telangana people. “Looking at the sea of yellow flags, KCR had shudders down his spine and might be shivering in this hot summer as he sees his bleak future,” Revanth said.

Before the elections, a highly emotional Chandrasekhara Rao promised an utopian government with only milk and honey flowing in Telangana.

“He promised jobs to unemployed youth at least one to each family, scholarships to students, fee reimbursement, houses for all the poor, three acres of land to the landless farmers, 12 per cent reservation to the Erulukula tribes, 11 per cent reservation to the Muslims and the list was endless,” he recalled.

He said there would be no suicides among the farmers, no guns and tear gas and only peace and harmony. But after he formed the government, KCR forgot all the promises. The government completed 1,100 days and during this period 3,300 farmers committed suicides topping the national list of farmers deaths in the country.

For 12 hours survey, the TRS government spent 12 crore but could not obtain the details of the 1200 students who had died during the agitation for Telangana.

The Chief Minister also did not bother to attend the centenary celebrations of the Osmania University which was the centre stage for Telangana agitation. Those students and scholars who were promised jobs were slapped with police cases and sent to jail shattering the dreams of their parents.

Concluding his speech Revanth Reddy said Telugu Desam Party would rule both the Telugu speaking states.
