Earlier, the corporation had directed the advertising agencies to take down the flexies immediately and not to mount flexies on hoarding up to June 15 2017.

GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy held a meeting with the advertisement agencies, where the latter requested the civic body to permit them to display advertisements from Thursday.

The GHMC commissioner considered the request and permitted all the agencies to display advertisement on wall mounted and ground hoarding up to size 40x25. And for hoarding on roof tops limited to size 30x25 placed on building not exceeding two stories, he said.

The GHMC commissioner instructed the agencies to follow the instruction of display of single flex, submission of undertaking individually by all the agencies, installation of stay wires for all the hoardings to provide anchor to the structure from the building and no display of advertisements on old buildings.

The instructions also include preventive steps required for the safety of the hoardings, removal of flexies by agencies voluntarily in case of forecast of heavy rains or winds, in case of any failure to comply would render the agency personally liable.

Any deviations noticed can result in cancellation of permission of the condemned structure, repeated default shall result in blacklisting of the agencies and in the event of any unfortunate mishap, the agency concerned shall be responsible for the consequences of civil and criminal liability in accordance with the law.
