Medak: Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika (TVV) was formed to provide a forum for the educated and intellectuals to voice their views on various subjects and exert pressure on the government. Its aim, when it was formed in 2004 was to expose the injustice being done to the people in Telangana, according to TVV founder president M Kodandaram on Thursday.

Speaking at the fifth district-level conference of TVV held in Medak town, he felt that in a democracy voice should be raised against injustice. The TVV has been raising very important issues like Polavaram project, non-implementation of 610 GO. It had published and distributed booklets on various subjects pertaining to Telangana State, and they had been distributed in villages.

This, according to him, had acted as a fuel for the movement for a separate State in villages after 2009. “Professor Jayashankar always used to caution us that people’s organisations became extinct after the formation of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

He stressed the need that it should not be repeated in Telangana State. He kept telling everyone that responsibility on our shoulders would increase once Telangana was formed,” he recalled. Kodandaram regretted that the land scams like the one in Miyapur had surfaced. He said the government had not implemented 33 per cent reservations for women.

TPTF State President Kondal Reddy and TVV State president Gurijala Ravinder also spoke. The meeting passed 56 resolutions pertaining to several issues affecting Medak district.
