Hyderabad: Alleging direct involvement of Ministers, particularly Talasani Srinivas Yadav in the Miyapur land registration scam, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh demanded that the government order CBI inquiry. Pointing out that none should be spared,he expressed Congress’s preparedness to face any kind of probe over its past regime.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, the senior Congress leader said the Congress has lost confidence in Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who was trying to hush-up the matter by transferring some officials, while bigwigs and Ministers were being allowed to go scot free.

This move, he said, was similar to its attempt to shield some of its leaders who were linked with slain gangster Nayeem.

Digvijay held that in Nayeem’s case, action was initiated against policemen, but political leaders were spared. “Perhaps the KCR family needs a person like Talasani Srinivas Yadav to collect money, who had jumped into TRS party by violating anti-defection law,” he said.

On the recent tour of BJP national president Amit Shah to the State, the Congress leader said that it proved to be a ‘damp squib’ despite maximum hype by media. He pointed out despite all out efforts; none from other parties joined the BJP.

“The BJP has been trying to polarise votes using Hindu card against Muslims in Telangana. There remained an understanding between extreme elements on both sides, ” said.

Responding to a question, he said that the government is yet to define what is beef, hence it cannot impose restrictions unilaterally on all the livestock animals.

He felt that eating habits remained diverse in the country between different cultural groups. He said that even the Union Minister Rijiju and BJP leaders from North East openly stated that they eat beef. It was not correct on the part of BJP to decide people’s menu.
