In a bid to eliminate manual scavenging, Telangana government has introduced 70 mini jetting machines which were flagged off by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday.

Speaking in this regard, KTR said that the state government has adopted this technology as a art of its 'Swachh Telangana' programme to end manual scavenging.

The Minister added that the government has given priority to improve the working and living conditions further hoping that the manual scavanging ceases to exist in Telangana soon.

Purchased at a cost of Rs 20 crore, the mini jetting machines were handed over to the sanitary soldiers who have been provided with 'bacteria-free uniforms', a first in India.

The machines have easy access to the narrow lanes and smaller colonies in the city to clear the drainages.
