The high level committee has decided to install 218 CCTV cameras in the three main railway stations in Hyderabad to beef up the security and convenience of Railway passengers.

The high level committee has decided to install 218 CCTV cameras in the three main railway stations in Hyderabad to beef up the security and convenience of Railway passengers.

Under the Chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police (Railways and Road Safety), T Krishna Prasad, the committe held meeting to discuss issues such as security and convinence at Railway stations keeping in view of the growth in passenger traffic.

130 CCTV cameras will be installed at the Secunderabad Railway Station, 29 at Kachiguda and 39 in Nampally. Baggage scanners are also to be installed at the entrance points.

Lane discipline, parking arrangements, removal of vehicles parked in the premises of railway stations for long periods, hackers and installing pre-booking facilities inside the stations are some of the other measures that are to be implemented.
